Our Mission
Riddim And Poetry is a creative movement dedicated to preserving the soul, culture, and excellence of Hip Hop. Through live events, educational programs, and community-driven initiatives, we celebrate the five elements of Hip Hop while creating space for new voices, stories, and art. We believe Hip Hop is not just a sound — it’s a language, a history, a healing tool, and a global force for change. Our mission is to make sure it’s never watered down, never forgotten, and always evolving with purpose.

Malik “Verse” Thompson
Founder & Creative Director
A Bronx native and lifelong MC, Malik launched Riddim And Poetry to give Hip Hop a home that honors its roots. With over 15 years in performance, education, and community organizing, he leads the vision, curates programs, and still grabs the mic when the cypher starts.
Jasmine Carter
Programs & Education Lead
Jasmine is a spoken word artist and educator who designs our youth workshops and school partnerships. Her background in social justice and curriculum development ensures that every R&P session is both impactful and empowering.
